Jules is getting ready to walk. She made 6 - 8 steps a few times today and is getting really good with her balance. It's so exciting and at the same time a little scary.

It makes me kind of sad that she's growing up so fast. It seems like as soon as I adjust to one change (like her not wanting to be rocked to sleep, or crawling), another one is already on its way. Is it just me or everyone else feels that way?

Jules turned 1 last week. Gosh, time flies when you are having fun! :) I went though so many changes and adjustments during this past year, but the greatest change has happened within me. I've learned to be much less selfish, way more patient and certainly more kind and accepting of others. As Meryl Steep once said, "Motherhood has a very humanizing effect. Everything gets reduces to essentials."

Jules 1st birthday party was a blast - thanks to all our friends and family members who joined us for the celebration. And if you are wondering about the adorable hair bows Jules is wearing - I made them in literally 5 minutes. I just got a couple of spiral gift bows while shopping for the b-day decorations and attached them to Julia's hair bands with a sewing thread. Done!
